Smart, Agile, Imaginative

My name is Eddie Cohen and I have been playing pool since I was 18 years old and started making cues in 2010.  I had made my first cue when I was 24 years old.  My first venture towards cue making was when I installed a leather wrap on an old break cue of mine that I did 100% by hand with no lathe. It took me a few tries but I was able to do it.  Later on I had bought a repair lathe to do my own tips, after having a bad install from a local repairman, I had decided it was best to learn to do my own tips.

I have always been fascinated by custom cues, as I am a collector as well. Being a collector is what sort of jump started me to where I am today. I was a customer of both Kent Davis and Ariel Carmeli, which then turned into them being my cue building mentors.  I first learned from helping out at the shop of Kent Davis.  Kent taught me a lot about cue construction and how to work with different woods.  After a few years Ariel Carmeli invited me to help him.  Ariel taught me how to run a CNC machine, select shaft wood, and finish cues.  They both helped me out immensely, and I wouldn’t  be at the level I’m at today without them.

Why Choose Us?

What services do you provide?

We can create anything and fix anything from the ground up when it comes to cues.  We can create custom joint protectors, shafts, rings / ring work, install new wraps (leather and irish linen), and many more services.  Feel free to ask us!

How long will it take?

Most repair work is completed within one week.  A good general rule of thumb is to estimate what needs to be done and give adequate time to allow for such.  You’re coming to Cohen Cues for a repair / new cue and you’re choosing us for our quality.  Please understand that quality DOES NOT equate to quickness.  Our work is done at the highest quality possible and sometimes this means longer wait times.

How much will it cost?

Tip Installs begin at $15 – Ferrule Replacements begin at $40 – Shafts begin at $150
